Russian musician, poet, audiovisual artist, sound poet and science fiction researcher.

The participant of many international festivals of modern and avant-garde art, member of International Academy Zaumi and Russian PEN-Center, the winner of the Mark of a name of the founding father of Russian Futurism D.D.Burljuk - for the contribution to popularisation and development of Russian Avant-garde.
Evgenij has been active in the music scene since his rock music days in the 1980s. Since 2000, he has been engaged in electronic experimental music - both under the name EugeneKha as well as Microbit Project and Yoko Absorbing. He also owns and operates the netlabels 45RPM-RECORDS (singles of electronic music), Microbit Records (lowbit sound) and Another Hemisphere Records (world sound poetry and audio art). Evgenij also releases the avante garde literary and art magazine called Another Hemisphere (Drugoe Polusharie), and the world sound poetry/video art magazine arTronic. He is the organizer of the Lapa Azora experimental sound festival, an accomplished poet, and is the author of numerous critical publications devoted to science fiction literature and cinema.

A highly prolific artist, he has released nearly one hundred albums in various areas of electronic music and sound poetry, on a variety of international labels, netlabels and audio-magazine’s.

the electronic project created in 2007 by the Russian musician, the poet, sound and visual poet and researcher of SF Evgenij V. Kharitonov. EugeneKha it is focused on electronic music of a wide range – from Ambient and Experimental to House and Electronic Pop-Art. Evgenij V. Kharitonov acts with musical projects from the end of 1980th years, played rock music, in 2000 was engaged in electronic experimental music - both under the name, and in projects EugeneKha, MICROBIT PROJECT and YOKO ABSORBING.

MICROBIT PROJECT

one of side-projects the musician, poet and Sound/Visual Poets Evgenij V. Kharitonov (EugeneKha, Yoko Absorbing). The project is created in the end of 2008 and originally it has been focused exclusively on experiments with lowbit sound (from 8 kbps to 48 kbps), however since December, 2008 under this pseudonym Evgenij V. Kharitonov lets out a various material which sounds more considerably, than music of project EugeneKha. Mainly it is industrial and post-industrial directions of electronic music: NOISE, DARK and HARSH AMBIENT, DRONE, Industrial, UK HARDCORE (DANCE), ELECTRO PUNK, INDIE, LO-FI and, of course, LOWBIT EXPERIMENTS.

YOKO ABSORBING

The project YOKO ABSORBING was created on spring 2008 in Russia by two avant-garde artists: poet, sound-poet and musician Evgenij V. Kharitonov [aka EugeneKha / Microbit Project] (Moscow) and artist, musician and poet Mikhail Lezin (Togliatti). Creative work of YOKO ABSORBING embraces the whole of experimental music: sound art, abstract music, concrete, prog-jazz, prog-rock, noise, ambient, electro acoustic, audio collage etc.
